The “Improving the Oral Health of Older Persons Initiative” ( IOHOP) was launched recently in the House Of Commons . Its purpose is to increase awareness of the role of good oral health in later life, and to provide training resources for those working in the care environment.
The IOHOP programme aims to deliver training, resources and online Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for carers and care home staff in the UK in the improvement of residents’ oral health by regular assessment, cleaning, and knowledge of oral conditions.
